The City of Stockholm has clarified its plans regarding the sale of the Stockholm International Fairs in Älvsjö; operations will continue as usual for at least five more years.
For Nordbygg, this means we plan to organize the fair as usual—in 2026 and 2028.
In the fall of 2024, the City of Stockholm announced plans to sell the Stockholm International Fairs to build housing and offices in the Älvsjö area. Now, the city has clarified its plans, stating that operations will continue at the same location for at least five more years.
– This is a clear message for us and all our exhibitors and visitors. We get peace of mind for several more years, while an owner from the business sector gives us entirely different capabilities. I see really great advantages for Nordbygg’s ability to grow and develop,” says Lina Hann, Project Manager at Nordbygg.
Strong attraction
Nordbygg is one of the most popular fairs at the Stockholm International Fairs, filling all three halls and attracting visitors from far beyond Sweden’s borders.
– Nordbygg’s role as a neutral and vibrant industry meeting place cannot be overstated. The key success factor is continuous development in collaboration with the industry. We will continue with this, regardless of where the premises are located,” says Lina Hann.
