April 14, 2023
At Nordbygg 2024, those who are interested in indoor climate will be noticing a great inflow of the world’s foremost scientists and industry representatives from this field. The international conference Roomvent will namely take place at Stockholmsmässan at the same time as Nordbygg, the largest construction meeting in the Nordics.
International conference coming home
The research conference, which started in Stockholm, has been held 17 times around the world, most recently in China, but is now returning to the city where it all began in 1987.
– It’s amazing that we can arrange such a large research conference as Roomvent in Sweden. There will be great representation from the industry, largely thanks to it being held at Nordbygg. It feels safe to be at Stockholmsmässan, which is a meeting place with much experience of international events, says Jaana Petherbielke, CEO at EMTF (the Energy and Environmental Technology Association), who are behind the Swedish part of Roomvent, in collaboration with Nordbygg and Swedish Ventilation.
Transnational industry development
The interest in indoor climate and ventilation was boosted during the pandemic, and the main theme of the conference is “healthy air together”. The five main areas of the conference are indoor climate, ventilation and energy performance, modelling and measuring performance, commission and inspection as well as industrial ventilation.
– There are many common aspects we have to decide on when it comes to indoor climate. By holding it at the same time as such a large fair as Nordbygg, we get international issues on the agenda and also a status on these issues, Petherbielke explains.
t Roomvent, topical research papers will be discussed together with the industry. The conference will be held during three days, including a gala dinner in the Victoria Hall.
– We at Nordbygg are naturally very pleased that leading expertise in ventilation, which is one of the largest of our exhibitor groups, will be coming with representatives from all over the world. Through this, our role as an international meeting place where actors at the forefront can develop their areas of knowledge together will be strengthened, Lina Hann, project manager at Nordbygg, closes.
