Timber Inspiration at Nordbygg 2026

– with Swedish Wood and Woodlife Sweden

The industry organisation Swedish Wood is returning to Nordbygg with a new concept and an even larger exhibition area than before. This time, member companies can gain extra visibility by joining as co-exhibitors. Right next to Swedish Wood’s stand, visitors will also find Woodlife Sweden – an exhibition created in collaboration with the Swedish Institute and Architects Sweden that spotlights Swedish timber architecture.

At Nordbygg 2024, Swedish Wood’s stand became a popular meeting point for actors across the sector. When the organisation returns in 2026, the ambition is to make the stand an even more vibrant hub.

“We noticed that our member companies used our stand as a gathering place to meet their customers. That gave us the idea to let them be even more visible through us this time. We will therefore offer our members space to exhibit in part of our stand,” says Anna Ryberg Ågren, Director of Swedish Wood.

The enlarged exhibition area will bring together several players from the timber industry. Visitors should feel that it is a natural place for networking, knowledge exchange and inspiration about new solutions in wood and timber construction.

Timber for export

Directly adjacent to Swedish Wood’s stand, Woodlife Sweden presents timber as a key material and shows how architecture and design, together with industry and forestry, can reduce climate impact and actively support the transition to a sustainable society. Produced in 2024 by the Swedish Institute in cooperation with Architects Sweden, Swedish Wood, the Wood Award (Träpriset) and the Swedish Forest Industries Federation, with support from Svensk Form and the Swedish Federation of Wood and Furniture Industry (TMF), the exhibition targets both Swedish and international audiences.

“Sweden is a world leader in timber construction and timber architecture, and through Woodlife Sweden we have welcomed many international delegations eager to study the entire timber value chain. Woodlife Sweden offers a taste of several Swedish projects with timber in focus,” says Anna Ryberg Ågren.

Knowledge at the center

Swedish Wood considers Nordbygg a strategically important arena for spreading knowledge – both through publications and face-to-face meetings. This is especially relevant now, as new building regulations and growing demand for sustainable materials are reshaping the market.

“Our mission is to share knowledge about wood, wood products and timber construction. Through a shared stand, individual member companies can showcase their products and solutions while we, as an industry organisation, contribute to the broader exchange of knowledge that benefits the entire sector,” Anna Ryberg Ågren concludes.
