In conjunction with Nordbygg 2026, the Sheet Metal Influencer of the Year award returns. This competition spotlights young professionals in the construction sheet metal industry who are driving positive change and development. Nominations are now open!

The award was established in 2024 and first presented to Emelie Persson, owner of Björn Persson’s Sheet Metal Workshop in Stockholm. She was recognized for her commitment to spreading knowledge about the sheet metal trade and her dedicated work toward building a more inclusive industry. Now, ahead of Nordbygg 2026, we’re searching for the next sheet metal influencer – a role model who champions key issues such as sustainability, innovation, workplace environment, inclusion, and recruitment with both professionalism and passion.
“The search for young sheet metal influencers helps us discover and highlight individuals from a new generation within the construction sheet metal industry. We see enormous potential and modern leadership that inspires and signals a bright future for the sector,” says Anders Hvarfner, Chairman of Swedish Construction Sheet Metal and CEO of the Sheet Metal & Ventilation Companies Association.
Nominations for Sheet Metal Influencer of the Year 2026 are open until 26 February 2026 at svenskbyggplat.se. Anyone can nominate one or more individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Be 40 years old or younger
- Work within the construction sheet metal industry (in any role or position)
- Champion progress in sustainability, innovation, workplace environment, inclusion, and/or recruitment
- Have made significant contributions – either over time or through specific projects or initiatives. Be an inspiring figure who drives positive change and development
Nominations are open until Wednesday, 26 February. A jury consisting of five representatives from the construction and property industry, one of whom is a member of Swedish Construction Sheet Metal, will select three finalists and an overall winner. The Sheet Metal Influencer of the Year 2026 will be announced at the Nordbygg construction and property trade fair on Thursday, 23 April, on the main stage.

Swedish Construction Sheet Metal will be exhibiting at Nordbygg from 21–24 April. The booth will serve as a sheet metal square and a natural meeting place for the industry, featuring exhibitions, activities, and lectures with and by the trade organization’s member companies.

Nominations:
From 25 November 2025 until 26 February 2026 at 23:00, it is possible to nominate individuals who meet the competition criteria. Nominations are open to everyone and are made via svenskbyggplat.se.
Jury:
The jury consists of five representatives from the construction and property industry, one of whom is a member of Swedish Construction Sheet Metal.
Finalists:
From the submissions, the jury will select three finalists, who will be announced on 23 March 2026.
