Twenty-one Nordic stakeholders have joined forces to test circular solutions for technical building equipment in real projects across seven cities.

The pilot tests cover ventilation, electrical and sanitary systems, elevators, and access systems, aiming to reduce resource consumption and climate impact.
The Nordic Circularity Piloting Program has brought together more than 130 companies from across the value chain – from manufacturers and property owners to contractors and demolition specialists – to develop new circular business models. Through active matchmaking and knowledge sharing, the program creates the conditions needed to scale up circular solutions in the construction sector.
The program runs eight pilot projects, each involving 2–5 companies. Participants include among others Vasakronan, KONE, Swegon, Skanska, Multiconsult, Demontera, Lindab, NollaE, Oras, ASSA ABLOY, Staaltro, SRV, and CapMan Real Estate. Together, they test models for reuse, refurbishment, and product-as-a-service (PaaS) in Finland, Sweden, and Norway.
“These examples show the way toward a more circular construction sector,” says Ulla Janson, Senior Lecturer at Lund University.
The program is led by Combient Pure and co-financed by Nordic Innovation, in close collaboration with partners including ASSA ABLOY, Demontera, KONE, Multiconsult, NollaE, Skanska, Swegon, and Vasakronan. Throughout the pilot period, experiences are continuously shared and deepened through sparring sessions.
The results will be presented for the first time at Nordbygg on April 22, 2026, where insights, recommendations, and best practices will be launched for the industry.
