Stockholm Business Region

“We are bringing international perspectives and fostering cross-border collaboration”

November 17, 2025

Stockholm Business Region returns to Nordbygg 2026 with an international program and a strong presence highlighting the region’s upcoming construction and infrastructure initiatives.

Stockholm Business Region works to strengthen the region’s international appeal and create the right conditions for investments, talent attraction, and long-term partnerships. At Nordbygg, the goal is to open doors for more international companies to discover the major urban development and infrastructure projects currently underway and planned in the Stockholm region.

“Despite the geopolitical climate, international interest in Sweden remains high among construction firms, material suppliers, property developers, and investors”, says Konrad Szczesny, Project Manager at Stockholm Business Region – adding that it’s “particularly within infrastructure and defense-related investments, which often brings new housing projects and logistics hubs nearby.”

New Regional Plan to 2040

In 2026, Stockholm Business Region will release an updated Construction and Infrastructure Report outlining planned projects across the region through 2040.

The report highlights major opportunities for international stakeholders to participate in shaping the region’s growth, with investments in transport, urban development, and logistics expected to drive expansion for many years ahead.

“In recent years, we’ve seen several significant capital investments in Swedish Proptech companies”, says Konrad. “That’s a sector with great potential — especially for firms offering solutions that enable substantial cost savings in new construction and property management.”

International program

The international program at Nordbygg 2026 will include insights into upcoming infrastructure projects, future housing concepts, and examples of successful international establishments in Sweden. Experts will also discuss how Sweden’s NATO membership and the broader geopolitical situation are shaping the construction industry’s future.
– “We want to show that Stockholm is a region in motion — a place with both potential and partnerships to build upon,” says Konrad Szczesny.

The program will be held in English and is open to all Nordbygg visitors.
