At Nordbygg 2026, they will relaunch a sheet metal forum called Plåttorget. It will be a meeting place for everyone in the construction sector. Here, the twelve member companies will showcase innovations, new products, and highlight the role of sheet metal in the buildings of the future.
When the Swedish Sheet Metal Organization reintroduces Plåttorget at Nordbygg 2026, it will take the form of an open square with its own stage, an activity area for working with sheet metal, and presentations of product innovations. The stand will be staffed by representatives from all twelve member companies, offering a unique opportunity to meet sheet metal experts from across the industry in one place.
– Plåttorget gives us the opportunity to demonstrate the breadth of building sheet metal while also creating a meeting place for the entire industry. We want to highlight our expertise, our commitment to quality, and the sustainability benefits of sheet metal, says Anders Hvarfner, Chairman of the Swedish Sheet Metal Organization and CEO of the Confederation of Swedish enterprises within sheet metal and ventilation.
From Plåttorget’s stage, visitors will be able to hear stories from inspirers and experts within sheet metal, architecture, construction, and real estate. At the previous Nordbygg, the Swedish Sheet Metal Organization focused on reuse and skills supply – two areas that will once again be highlighted this year both by exhibitors and on stage. Authorization and industry standards will also be central themes, as they are seen as key issues for the future.
– We must demonstrate safety and quality through authorized suppliers and shared standards. The sustainability benefits of sheet metal will also be emphasized. For most people, wood is the obvious environmentally friendly choice among building materials, but sheet metal can be reused an unlimited number of times. This gives it a self-evident role from a sustainability perspective. We want more people to be aware of that, explains Anders Hvarfner.
At Plåttorget, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the Swedish Sheet Metal Organization’s twelve member companies: ArcelorMittal, Areco, BEVEGO, DALA-PROFIL AB, Lindab Sverige, Plannja, the Confederation of Swedish enterprises within sheet metal and ventilation, PREFA Group, RHEINZINK, Ruukki, SSAB and VM Building Solutions.
