One of Sweden’s largest construction clients, Specialfastigheter,<\/a> is exhibiting at Nordbygg for the very first time! Meet buyers, project managers and technical specialists at the stand in the entrance hall. And get to know one of the construction sector’s most dynamic companies with projects from Ystad to Haparanda.<\/p>\n

Specialfastigheter is a state-owned commercial property company that owns, develops and manages security properties, including 90 percent of Sweden’s correctional facilities.<\/p>\n

“Social developments and the legislative reforms implemented as a result have significantly increased and changed our clients’ premises needs. We have a committed investment volume of approximately SEK 30 billion, making us one of Sweden’s largest construction clients,” explains Rebecca Jonvie.<\/p>\n

In her role as Head of Procurement for Contracting at Specialfastigheter, she is responsible for the group that procures technical consultants, design services, construction projects and framework agreements.<\/p>\n

Engaging with the industry<\/h2>\n

The company is now participating in Nordbygg for the very first time. Rebecca explains why:<\/p>\n

“As a property company experiencing strong growth, we want to contribute to a more sustainable and progressive construction sector. The fair gives us the opportunity to both showcase what we do and explore new ideas, solutions and collaborations that strengthen our client role,” she says, continuing:<\/p>\n

“In our stand, visitors will meet buyers, project managers, specialists and experts. We will present Specialfastigheter and the challenges we see ahead. We also want to have a dialogue about current projects, such as the National Archives\u2014how we work with sustainability issues and what we expect from our suppliers.”<\/p>\n

Special requirements<\/h2>\n

Correctional facilities, youth detention centers, courthouses and police stations are among the properties owned, developed and managed by the company. The operations are located throughout the country, from north to south. These are specialized operations that place unique demands on the premises.<\/p>\n

“Since many of the properties house security-related operations, we conduct systematic security work in all phases, addressing both physical and digital security,” says Fredrik Hagel, Project Area Manager at Specialfastigheter.<\/p>\n

Dialogue and collaboration are key<\/h2>\n

Both Rebecca and Fredrik emphasize that collaboration with the market is crucial for success. Nordbygg will be an opportunity to both demonstrate what they do and require, and to find new solutions and partnerships. Procurement is carried out in accordance with the Public Procurement Act (LOU).<\/p>\n

“It’s important for us to have an open dialogue in early stages to understand conditions, capacity and learn about new ideas. This leads to better deals, higher quality and more sustainable results,” says Rebecca Jonvie.<\/p>\n

“At Nordbygg, we expect to meet a broad section of the market, be inspired by good examples, exchange experiences and strengthen our client role. We want to follow innovations such as green concrete and developments in the construction process, and of course well-proven technology as well,” concludes Fredrik Hagel.<\/p>\n
