19 June 2025<\/em><\/p>\n The City of Stockholm has decided to retain ownership of Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan. As a result, Nordbygg will continue to be held in \u00c4lvsj\u00f6 until at least 2035<\/strong> \u2013 news that has been warmly welcomed by stakeholders across the construction and real estate sectors.<\/p>\n Given the current market conditions, it has proven difficult to find a buyer who meets the city\u2019s requirements. The sale process has therefore been discontinued, and the city will continue to manage and develop the venue. It has also confirmed that the exhibition will remain at its current location in \u00c4lvsj\u00f6, south of Stockholm, for at least another decade.<\/p>\n \u201cThis means, in other words, at least five more editions of Nordbygg at the same location \u2013 at a minimum! We will continue to focus on developing Nordbygg, which is Northern Europe\u2019s leading meeting place for the construction and real estate sectors,\u201d says Lina Hann, Project Manager for Nordbygg.<\/p>\n She notes that the response from Nordbygg\u2019s organising group \u2013 consisting of the Building Materials Industries, the Energy and Environmental Technology Association, the Glass Industry Association, Installation Companies, Swedish Ventilation, and HVAC Manufacturers \u2013 has been overwhelmingly positive.<\/p>\n \u201cLong-term stability and peace of mind are crucial in an uncertain economic climate. We\u2019re very pleased that the City of Stockholm will continue to run Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan at the same location through 2035. Nordbygg plays a vital role for the construction sector \u2013 there is no other event of this scale that brings together every part of the industry,\u201d says Britta Permats, CEO of Swedish Ventilation.<\/p>\n Both the Building Materials Industries and HVAC Manufacturers \u2013 which represent large exhibitor groups \u2013 also express strong support for the decision to keep Nordbygg at its current venue for the long term.<\/p>\n \u201cNordbygg is an invaluable meeting place \u2013 fantastic for networking and knowledge exchange. Continuity is especially important in areas that matter deeply to us, such as digitalisation and sustainability.
