This news means that the capital region will have to attract more international actors. The coming investments are increasing in absolute numbers since the last report in 2019, but will mean a slight decrease in investments after inflation, interest rate and increased building costs have been taken into consideration. Despite this, a large addition of labour will be needed in the coming years. <\/p>\n \u2013 The planned investments in the construction of houses is still EUR 59 billion in total, the infrastructure investments are estimated to amount to EUR 18 billion by 2040. So, regardless, we will need an international workforce to keep up the pace. Stockholm City alone will need 30,000 – 40,000 construction workers, says Konrad Szczesny, Project Manager at Stockholm Business Region. <\/p>\n By showing successful examples and share knowledge of the Swedish market, SBR hope to inspire and facilitate for international companies to establish themselves.<\/p>\n This particular programme is being arranged in English and will be open to all visitors on Tuesday April 23, between 1-3 pm on the Nordbygg Talks stage. <\/p>\n \u2013 Even though the programme is mainly aimed at international actors, I believe that Swedish visitors will enjoy hearing how these investments affect the business opportunities in the region and being informed about some of the big projects that are under way. We will of course be available in the Stockholm City stand, just by the stage, for all who want to discuss these issues with us, says Konrad. <\/p>\n Among the international programme\u2019s speakers is Staffan Ingvarsson, acting CEO at Stockholmsm\u00e4ssan, previously CEO at Stockholm Business Region, and international guests like Jan Styli\u0144ski, CEO at the Polish Association of Construction Industry Employers. Visitors can expect to hear about how international actors can contribute to construction and how the pace can be accelerated, given the difficult economic situation in the construction industry.
