Bathrooms of Tomorrow – with Svedbergs, Laufen, and FM Mattsson

In anticipation of Nordbygg 2026, three prominent bathroom manufacturers provide insights into the current and emerging trends favored by property owners and developers. Representatives from Laufen, Svedbergs, and FM Mattsson, who are returning exhibitors, also explain their ongoing commitment to Nordbygg as the premier platform for unveiling new innovations and engaging with the entire industry.

Marcus Sahlsten, Sales Director, LAUFEN Sweden

In your opinion, what are the leading design trends?

“Minimalist and practical design is popular right now. The focus is on bathrooms that are easy to clean and simple to keep organized.”

What are large developers and property owners currently looking for when building bathrooms?

“Reuse and CO2-neutral products are in high demand. Laufen is leading the way with a CO2-neutral kiln for firing porcelain and uses electricity from solar power and water turbines instead of gas. In Sweden, floor-standing toilets are more popular compared to the rest of Europe, where there is a higher demand for wall-hung toilets.”

Why are you returning to Nordbygg in 2026?

“Nordbygg is a key event for connecting with important industry professionals such as architects, consultants, wholesalers, and contractors. The event also offers interesting lectures and opportunities to meet customers.”

Andreas Raudvee, Project Sales, Svedbergs

“Nature influences our design, visible in wood details and softer forms. Sustainability is a common theme, with many details reused within the product range to create a unified design.”

What are large developers and property owners currently looking for when building bathrooms?

“Our customers demand products with long lifespans, the right certifications, and functional design. Since 75% of our product range is manufactured in our factory in Dalstorp, we can meet these requirements and ensure high quality.”

Why are you returning to Nordbygg in 2026?

“The ability to build a showroom and display our new products at an event where the entire industry gathers is a major reason for our participation. Many interesting meetings take place during these days.”

Malou Carlsson, Sales Manager BTR, FM Mattsson and Mora Armatur

In your opinion, what are the leading design trends?

“People are bolder now compared to before, when “white and clean” dominated. Natural colors and wood provide a calm and harmonious feel, but there are also those who dare to use stronger colors. Technology and design merge, with a focus on innovative solutions for faucets and touchless sinks.”

What are large developers and property owners currently looking for when building bathrooms?

“It's about fulfilling both market and regulatory requirements to ensure that the buildings meet all necessary criteria.”

Why are you returning to Nordbygg in 2026?

“It's an excellent opportunity to meet both customers and suppliers as well as make new connections. We can also showcase our innovations to the market, making Nordbygg a valuable meeting place.”
