Growing international interest in a continuously hot market

Nordbygg in Stockholm represents a market which is important to companies outside the Nordic Region. Through Nordbygg, they get access to the entire Nordic market.

– We are already planning six national showcases for 2018: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Austria. Bavaria also has a showcase. More are under discussion, reveals Peter Söderberg, Project Manager.

Attractive market

Nordbygg represents a market which is important to companies outside the Nordic Region. Through Nordbygg, they get access to the entire Nordic market.

– Even if Sweden, the Nordic countries and Germany have a lot in common, it's not always clear to German companies what sort of business potential the Swedish market can have for them, states Ninni Löwgren Tischer at the German- Swedish Chamber of Commerce.

– The Nordic construction market is attractive to German companies. Especially in areas such as energy efficiency and building passive houses, Internet of Things and other smart technology, says Ninni, and continues:

– To visualize the potential, establish contacts but also to get a pragmatic and physical entrance to the market, a forum such as Nordbygg is invaluable.

Successful Swiss participation

At Nordbygg 2016, the Architecture Day was implemented together with Architects Sweden and the Swiss Chamber of Commerce.

– The target group was architects. There was great support and interest from the media, so we achieved our goals there, says Anne Brennwald, Events Manager at the Swiss Chamber of Commerce.

Gustav Henriksson, Head of Trade Section at the Swiss Embassy says that the Nordics are an interesting market with great potential for Swiss companies also, since there is so much construction going on here. It is important to get to know the market and their special conditions, such as the procedure on procurement, distribution of roles, etc. That can be done at Nordbygg.

– The one who gets to know the market and targets the right segment, can do good business, Gustav Henriksson closes.
